Viv

So let’s start with the nickname.  No, Viv isn’t my name.  It simply comes from my last name, Vivier.  In grade five my best friend (at the time of course… the role of BFF changed daily back then) started calling me Viv and it stuck.  To the point most of my friends parents in high school thought my name was Vivian, including my Mom.    I’ve been creeping my way towards Ottawa over the past few years.  I went to school in Michigan, worked in Windsor at AM 800 moved on to London at Newstalk 1290, made a stop by St. Catherines at Newstalk 610 then back to London (never was that great at geography) to EZ Rock in London to co-host the afternoon show.   I’m so excited to be in Ottawa with the EZ Breakfast show for so many reasons!  But in the interest of you actually reading the end of this before you boss walks by and you have to click to a new window to make it look like you’re actually working…I’ll keep it to the top five.   1)    The home of Giant Tiger, I'm there!   2)    Parliment Hill, its comforting to ... Neil Hedley

With the exception of a brief, misspent youth at Sam The Record Man, every job I’ve ever had involves a stage and/or a microphone.   For years I worked as a singer in Toronto, and toured with a band that opened for dozens of acts from the Temptations to Billy Ray Cyrus.  As a stand-up comic, I toured North America sharing the stage with the likes of Brent Butt, Norm MacDonald and Richard Lewis.  And radio has punched my bus ticket to scenic tourist hotspots like Oshawa... also Edmonton, Hamilton, Kitchener, Hartford, Washington, New York and Boston.   I couldn’t be more excited to finally be home after spending half my adult life in the US.   After six straight  top-rated morning shows, I’ve never been more optimistic and excited than I am about the gang here at EZRock.  Next time I’m out someplace, pull me aside and say hello – can’t wait to get to know you better.   Click here for more

Renee Madden

I’m originally from Ottawa. Started working in radio right after graduating from college. It’s true what they say, you have to work your way up - my first job was as a receptionist! But eventually you find you get promoted to what you’re good at. I’ve been in radio for over 15 years, and have to say, the people I’m working with now are the best!! Everyone here is like a second family. Just bought my very first home – it’s a fixer upper... but since money and means are tight, it’s a constant work in progress. As it goes, once you get the home, you have to get the dog too!! Found a sweet 5-year old hound online at a local SPCA. Went to see him that very day and spent four hours with him before finally deciding. He hardly barked at all, and I could imagine us taking these wonderful long walks together, but as it turns out, he’s the type you pretty much have to drag around the neighbourhood! Jethro’s all about the food, and not so much about the exercise! (At least I can use him as an excuse!) I’m a ... Click here for more

Jeff Kelly

I was born in North Bay, Ontario - moving to Owen Sound, Ontario on my 5th birthday..(you still owe me Mom and Dad). I attended high school in Chesley, Ontario home of "The Cougars" (really, google it). After a few fun years in London, for College and my first job I've had stops in Barrie - back to London, Winnipeg and now Ottawa. I also consider myself a fairly successful CEO/CFO, in partnership with my wife, of TFB (The Family Business), which is just another way of saying we run our family like a non-profit corporation. In addition to the above I am my child’s driver and our dog’s walker.  And in the spirit of being Transparent, Authentic and Open, I admit that I am addicted to weekends and Google..(which also tells me that I am an Associate Professor of Zoology and Heritage Zoologist Oklahoma Biological Survey University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK - busy guy I know). Its always so hard to tell people about yourself in just a couple of sentences...but I will try my best...Here goes:   I grew up in a little village outside of Barrie Ontario, called Midhurst. Its the kind of place where you don’t lock your doors, so a pretty nice place to grow up. After graduating from high school I enrolled in the Radio Broadcasting course at London’s Fanshawe College. From there I worked back home in Barrie for a few years, before stints in both Winnipeg and London. I have been with my wonderful husband for 10 years, married for 6. We have a Daughter, whom we adore as well as a “furry” kid, Our black Lab named Angus. I am very excited to call Ottawa my new  home and be a part of such an exciting new station. I will be making sure you are up to date on everything happening in Ottawa in the afternoons with Jeff Kelly from 3pm-7pm and I’ll be hosting “The Wonder Years” an interactive parenting show that will be heard weekly on Wednesday nights as part of The Night Cap.  Click here for more
